Cycladic Arts, nestled in the picturesque fishing village of Aliki on the southwest coast of Paros, is a unique artist-run space dedicated to fostering artistic creation and cultural exchange. Housed in a renovated traditional Cycladic building dating back to 1925, this 350m² complex serves as a hub for artists from diverse backgrounds to connect, collaborate, and create. Cycladic Arts' mission is to support dialogue and the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and skills between people of varied geographic and ethnic origins, ages, and artistic disciplines. The center encourages international projects and collaborations, providing artists with opportunities to live and work outside their usual environments. This immersive experience allows creatives to reflect, research, and produce work inspired by the unique culture and natural beauty of Paros. The complex includes an exhibition space, accommodation and studio spaces for three residents, common interiors (kitchen and laundry area), the studio/office of the program coordinator, and courtyards and surrounding gardens. The Cycladic Arts Artist-In-Residence Program offers visual artists, art and culture theorists, curators, writers, and poets a chance to benefit from this unique living and working experience. Visitors can explore the art center's exhibitions, engage with the staff, and even purchase local artworks or crafts as a memorable keepsake. The evenings are particularly enchanting, with the center open from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, allowing visitors to experience the art in a serene and atmospheric setting. Cycladic Arts aims to be a cornerstone for the dissemination and preservation of the island's cultural heritage, while becoming a magnet for the fermentation of ideas and a meeting place for exchanges between locals and foreign visitors.
