The hidden gem of Greece

This is a true gem of a tour. The Pelopponesian peninsula is stunning. My driver Georgios was willing to teach everything from Greek language (how to read and pronounce), history of the areas and gyros vs souvlaki and the proper way to order it. The tour itself was a hidden gem. There were very few foreign tourists and mostly Greek people on holiday which made me feel like I was truly experiencing Greece as a local. The rack rail train trip was simply stunning and well worth it for the views. Kalavryta is a gorgeous town with great coffee. The scenery everywhere was stunning but the Cave Lakes were magical. I will visit again when the water is higher. The museum at the caves was very educational. I highly recommend this trip for anyone ago wants to see a less than common part of Greece. A nice day away from Athens

After a long day in Athens the day before, this tour hit at just the right time. We were met at the hotel by our driver, Christos, who was prepared for our day with plenty of cool water and information. As we drove to our destinations, he expertly explained what we would be seeing and their significance. He allowed for plenty of time for breaks and photos. The spot he selected for our lunch was so perfect...delicious examples of Greek cuisine. The train portion of the excursion was particularly awesome, but by no means the only good part of the tour. And at the end. Christos grabbed my phone for me before he left after dropping us back at the hotel. I highly recommend this tour, and if you're lucky enough to get Christos, it will be even better!
