Walking
From the center of Kalamata, start at the Kalamata Central Square (Platia 23is Martiou). Head southeast on 23is Martiou Street towards Navarinou Street. Continue straight until you reach the main intersection with Aristomenous Street. Turn left onto Aristomenous Street and walk straight for about 1 km. You will pass by various shops and cafes. Keep walking until you see the signs for Epar.Od. Kalamatas - Areopolis. Follow this road for approximately 5 km. As you approach Stavropigio, you will see the Castle of Zarnata on your right, positioned on a hilltop. You can follow the path leading up to the castle entrance.

From Kalamata's central bus station (Ktel Kalamatas), take the local bus heading towards Areopolis. The bus frequency is approximately every hour. After about 20-30 minutes, disembark at the stop for Stavropigio. From the bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 km along the Epar.Od. Kalamatas - Areopolis road. The castle will be visible on the hill as you approach. Follow the path that leads to the entrance of the Castle of Zarnata.
