    Taxis are available in Lamia. A taxi ride to the Monastery of Agathon will take approximately 20-30 minutes and cost around €15-€20. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.

  • Driving

    From Lamia, follow the signs towards Ypati. From Ypati, a tortuous mountain road climbs 7km west to reach the Monastery of Agathon. Parking is available near the museum entrance. Be aware that the road can be narrow and winding. No tolls are expected.

The monastery served as a refuge during the Greek Revolution and was burned down by Ottoman Turks in 1822, later being rebuilt.
