Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main gate of Monemvasia, Kellia Guesthouse is located within the castle walls. Follow the main street, and then take the first left. Walk straight ahead until you reach the square with the church. The guesthouse is located on the right side of the square. Note that Monemvasia is a pedestrian-only town, so walking is the only way to reach the guesthouse once inside the castle walls.

  • Public Transport

    If arriving by bus from Athens or Sparta, the bus will drop you off in Gefyra, the new town on the mainland. From there, you can either walk across the causeway (approximately 15-20 minutes) or take a local bus to the entrance of the castle. Once you enter the castle, follow the walking directions to reach Kellia Guesthouse. Bus fare from Gefyra to the castle entrance is approximately €1-2.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available in Gefyra and can take you to the entrance of the castle. From there, you will need to walk to Kellia Guesthouse. A taxi ride from Gefyra to the castle entrance will cost approximately €5-€10. Be aware that taxis cannot enter the castle itself.
