    Walking

    The final approach to Muses Plateau invariably involves hiking. Popular starting points include Gortsia and Prionia, both accessible by car or taxi from Litochoro. From Gortsia, the hike is approximately 6 hours. From Prionia, follow the trail to Spilios Agapitos refuge (approx. 3 hours), then continue to the Plateau (another 2 hours). Ensure you have appropriate hiking gear, water, and snacks. Check weather conditions before you start, as they can change rapidly. Guided tours are available for less experienced hikers. There are no entrance fees for the Plateau itself.

    Public Transport

    To reach the trailhead via public transport, take a bus from Thessaloniki to Litochoro (approx. 1.5-2 hours). From Litochoro, a taxi to Gortsia or Prionia is necessary, costing approximately €25. From either of these points, the final leg to Muses Plateau is on foot. A bus ticket from Thessaloniki to Litochoro costs around €10-€15. A taxi from Litochoro to the trailheads will cost about €25.

    Car

    If driving from Litochoro, follow the road towards Mount Olympus National Park. Continue to Gortsia or Prionia, where the hiking trails begin. Parking is available at both locations. From either location, the final access to Muses Plateau is on foot. Be aware that the route to Litochoro includes tolls; a round trip will cost approximately €50. Parking at Prionia is free.
