Car
If you're driving from Sparta, take the E65 road towards the village of Gola. Continue on E65 for about 15 kilometers. Once you reach the village of Gola, follow the signs leading to Moni Golas. The road will lead you to a small parking area near the monastery, which is the starting point for the hiking trail to Κουμούστα.
Public Transportation
You can take a local bus from Sparta to Gola. Buses are available regularly from the main bus station in Sparta. The bus journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Gola, you will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach the Moni Golas. Follow the signs for Moni Golas, and you will find the parking area where the hiking begins.
Walking from the Parking Area
After parking your vehicle or arriving by bus, you will see signs for the hiking trail. The trailhead is located near the monastery. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and enough water as the trail can be challenging. The hike to Κουμούστα will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace.
