Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards the nearest major city in the North Aegean region, such as Mytilene or Chios. From there, use the E55 or E65 highways to reach the mainland of Greece. Once you cross over to the mainland, follow signs for the E94 towards Corinth. Continue on the E94 for approximately 90 kilometers until you reach the Corinth Canal area. There is ample parking available near the canal, but be prepared for possible fees, which usually range from 2 to 5 euros.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, you can take a bus from various locations in the North Aegean to Athens. Once in Athens, head to the Kifissos Bus Station, where you can catch a KTEL bus to Corinth. The bus ride takes about 1-1.5 hours. Upon reaching Corinth, the canal is approximately 10 minutes away by taxi or local bus (check local schedules for exact times). The taxi fare should be around 10 euros. Alternatively, if you prefer a guided experience, look for organized tours that operate from Athens to the Corinth Canal.
Combination (Car and Public Transport)
If you are in a smaller town in the North Aegean, consider driving to a larger town like Mytilene or Chios and then taking a bus to Athens as described above. Once in Athens, you can either rent a car for the trip to Corinth or use the public bus option from Kifissos Bus Station. This combination allows for flexibility and the opportunity to explore more of the region.
