Walking
From the central square of Rethymno (Plateia 25 Martiou), head towards the harbor and follow the waterfront promenade (Akti Kountourioti) westward. After about 1 km, you'll reach the end of the promenade where it meets the main road (Epar.Od. Rethymnou - Irakliou). Continue along this road for approximately 3 km until you reach the signs for Plakias. Turn left towards Plakias and continue for about 10 km. Once in Plakias, follow the signs to Finikas. The Old Plakias Tunnels are located near the beach area, and you can ask locals for specific directions if needed.
Bus
From Rethymno, head to the local bus station located near the harbor. Take the bus heading towards Plakias (check the schedule as it may vary). The bus ride takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Disembark at the Plakias bus stop and walk towards the beach area. The Old Plakias Tunnels are located nearby; you can ask locals or follow the signs to find your way to the tunnels.
