The Folk Museum is located in Rethymno's Old Town, easily accessible on foot from most central locations. From the Rimondi Fountain, walk east along Vernardou Street. The museum will be on your left after a short distance. The walk is generally flat and takes only a few minutes.

If arriving by KTEL bus at the main bus station, walk towards the city center and follow the signs to the Old Town. Once in the Old Town, follow Vernardou Street to the east. The museum will be on your left. A bus ticket within Rethymno town costs approximately €1-€2.

Taxis are readily available in Rethymno. Ask your driver to take you to the Folk Museum on Vernardou Street in the Old Town. A short taxi ride from the bus station or the Fortezza should cost around €5-€7. Be sure the driver starts the meter. The meter starts at €1.80, with a rate per km inside city limits at €0.90.
