Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the entrance of Samaria Gorge and head towards the village of Agia Roumeli. Follow the road signs that lead to Sfakia. The drive is approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Sfakia, park your car in one of the local parking areas. From there, Ψυρίστρα is accessible by hiking. Take the trail towards the coast, which will lead you to Ψυρίστρα. The hike is about 1 hour and is relatively easy, with beautiful views along the way.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Chania to Sfakia. Buses run regularly, and the journey takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive in Sfakia, you can ask locals for directions to Ψυρίστρα. The hiking path from Sfakia to Ψυρίστρα should take approximately 1 hour. Ensure you check the bus schedules in advance to coordinate your return trip.

• Hiking

  If you are already in Samaria Gorge, after reaching the exit of the gorge, head towards the village of Agia Roumeli. From Agia Roumeli, take the coastal trail leading towards Sfakia. The hike will take about 1 hour. Follow the signs towards Ψυρίστρα, which is located along the coastline. Be sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry enough water for the journey.
