Walking
From Fira's central square, head towards the main street (Caldera View) that runs along the cliff's edge. Follow the signs pointing towards the Old Port or 'Gialos'. The trail is well-marked and gradually descends, taking approximately 30-40 minutes to reach the Old Harbor. Be prepared for a path with uneven terrain.
Cable Car
The cable car station is near Fira's central square. Purchase a ticket at the booth. The cable car runs every 20 minutes during the summer and every 30 minutes in the winter. The ride to the Old Harbor takes only a few minutes. The cable car is wheelchair accessible. Cost: A one-way ticket costs €10 for adults and €5 for children (ages 6-12). There is a €5 fee per piece of luggage.
Public Transport
If arriving at Santorini Airport (JTR), take the KTEL bus to Fira. The bus stop is located outside the arrival terminal. Buses depart hourly, with increased frequency during peak season. The journey to Fira takes approximately 25 minutes. From Fira bus station, walk towards the main street (Caldera View) and follow signs to the Old Harbor Trail or cable car. Cost: The bus from the airport to Fira is approximately €2.
