The primary access point to Salamis Island is via ferry from Perama, a suburb of Piraeus in Athens. Ferries operate 24/7, departing every 15-30 minutes. A single passenger ticket costs approximately €1.20. Vehicle tickets are around €6.15 for cars and €1.10-€1.55 for motorcycles. Tickets can only be purchased at the port of Perama. The ferry arrives at Paloukia, the main port on Salamis Island.

From central Athens, take bus line 841, 842, or 843 to Perama. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. From the Perama bus terminal, it is a short walk to the ferry docks. A single bus fare within Athens is approximately €1.20.
