Lake Kerkini: A Birdwatcher's Paradise

Lake Kerkini, located in the Serres region of Northern Greece, is a stunning example of how humans and nature can coexist. Created in 1932 by damming the Strymon River, the lake was initially intended to manage water flow and prevent flooding.
