From Arta, take the E65 road north, and after 20 kilometers, follow signs to Kentrika Tzoumerka. Turn right to stay on the main road and continue for another 10 kilometers until a fork; take the left fork into a rural area. Follow signs for Katarraktis Waterfalls for 3 kilometers to the parking area near the falls. Parking is available near the waterfalls. There are no tolls on this route.

The twin falls, with one reaching approximately 87 meters and the other 100 meters, are among the tallest waterfalls in Greece. The falls are located on the northwestern slopes of Mount Olympus (Athamanika Mountains), near the settlement of Kryopigi. The village of Katarraktis, from which the waterfalls derive their name, is situated at an altitude of 800 meters. The village was formerly known as “Shoretsana” but was renamed in 1927. The best time to visit the waterfalls is during the spring, particularly in May, when the water flow is at its peak. However, the falls maintain a continuous flow from October to June. During the summer months, the water levels may decrease, but the surrounding landscape remains beautiful. Visitors can explore the area via well-maintained walking paths and picturesque wooden bridges, which offer easy access and stunning views. The area is rich in biodiversity, offering opportunities for hiking and birdwatching.
