Boat Tour
The most common way to reach the Blue Caves is by organized boat tour. Several companies offer excursions departing from various points on the island, including Zakynthos Town, Agios Nikolaos, and Cape Skinari. These tours typically range from 1 to 4 hours and often include stops at other attractions like Navagio (Shipwreck) Beach. Prices vary depending on the duration and inclusions, but expect to pay around €15-€30 per person for a basic Blue Caves tour. Check local tour operators for current pricing and schedules.
Driving & Swimming
For a more independent approach, drive to the Windmill Restaurant near Cape Skinari. From there, a staircase leads down to the coast. Swimming to the left and right will reveal smaller caves. However, swimming to the main Blue Caves entrance is dangerous due to heavy boat traffic. Parking near the Windmill Restaurant is limited, especially during peak season. Consider arriving early or using a scooter. There is no direct cost to access the area, but food and drinks at the Windmill Restaurant will incur charges.
