Solomos Wines Winery, located in the picturesque village of Bochali, Zakynthos, has been crafting wines since the early 1900s. The Solomos family, originally from Crete, has dedicated itself to preserving and evolving the island's winemaking traditions. The winery is situated at the foot of the historic Venetian Castle, offering visitors a unique blend of history and viticulture. The winery was established in the early 1980s by Anastasios and Dionysios Solomos, with a design that reflects traditional Zakynthian architecture. Today, the next generation of the Solomos family continues the legacy, producing PGI wines from indigenous grape varieties. These varieties include Augustiatis, Gustolidi, Pavlos, Skiadopoulos, Robola Lefki, Moschato, Violeto and Black Robola. Each wine embodies the unique characteristics of Zakynthos' soil, microclimate and the family's passion for winemaking. Visitors to Solomos Wines Winery can enjoy guided tours of the premises, learning about the history of the winery and the winemaking process. Wine tastings are offered in the elegant tasting room, where guests can sample a variety of Solomos wines. The winery also produces extra virgin olive oil, providing visitors with a taste of local flavors. The winery is generally open for tastings from May to October.
