Discover more about Mt Carmel Falls

Mt. Carmel Falls, also known as Marquis Falls, is located on the eastern side of Grenada, approximately two miles south of Grenville. The waterfall is fed by the Marquis River and plunges 70 feet down a precipitous rock face, making it the tallest waterfall in Grenada. The journey to the falls is a scenic 45-minute drive from St. George's through Grenada's lush countryside, filled with roadside fruit stands, mountain views, and colorfully painted homes. The entrance to Mt. Carmel Falls can be easy to miss, tucked between two houses, one of which has green paint on the lower half. The walk to the waterfall takes about 10-15 minutes on terrain that can be muddy and uneven. The path leads through a beautiful lush wood with a variety of mature plants and trees. Along the way, there's a simple bench and table setup. The trail splits, with the left path leading directly to the waterfall and the right path leading to natural water slides. At the foot of the falls, large, slippery boulders can be traversed for a unique tropical shower experience. Adventurous visitors can scramble to the top of the falls via a path on the right-hand side. Another short trail leads to natural water slides carved into the rocks.
