Discover more about Bathway Beach

Bathway Beach, situated on the northeastern coast of Grenada in the village of Levera, is a captivating destination renowned for its tranquil atmosphere and unique geological features. Unlike the typical Caribbean beach, Bathway boasts a long, wide pool area shielded from the strong Atlantic currents by a natural rock shelf running parallel to the shore. This creates a safe and shallow swimming environment, particularly ideal for families with children. The beach features distinctive coral-colored sand, a mix of white and black volcanic grains, adding to its visual appeal. The waters are crystal clear, inviting visitors to swim and snorkel, although swimming behind the protective reef is not recommended due to strong currents. The beach is also known for the various seashells that wash ashore. Bathway Beach provides a glimpse into local Grenadian life, especially on Sundays when families gather to socialize, cook, and play dominoes. Several vendors offer local snacks and refreshments, enhancing the authentic Caribbean experience. The beach is equipped with essential facilities, including parking, bathroom facilities, and picnic tables, ensuring a comfortable visit. Lifeguards are also on duty, adding an extra layer of safety. Beyond the beach itself, nearby attractions include Levera National Park, a nesting ground for leatherback turtles, offering a unique opportunity to witness these gentle giants during nesting season. The park also features hiking trails with breathtaking vistas.
