Perched on Richmond Hill, adjacent to Fort Frederick, Fort Matthew is the largest fort in Grenada, offering visitors a captivating journey through time. Throughout its history, Fort Matthew has served multiple purposes. Besides its military function, it was also used as a mental institution for the Windward Islands in 1880. Although partially damaged during the U.S. invasion of Grenada in 1983, much of the fort remains intact.
