The original sculpture was created by artist Guido Galletti. Positioned approximately 15 feet (3-5 meters) beneath the surface, the Christ of the Deep stands with arms outstretched, symbolizing peace, hope, and guidance for seafarers. The statue has become an integral part of Grenada's maritime heritage and a popular attraction for snorkelers and divers. The clear waters surrounding the statue teem with vibrant marine life, including colorful coral reefs and tropical fish.
