Discover more about Sunnyside Garden

Sunnyside Garden is a privately owned botanical haven located in the hills of St. Paul's, just east of St. George's, Grenada. This five-acre garden is a testament to the passion and dedication of its creators, Jean and Robin Renwick, whose family home has stood on the property for over a century. The garden's elevated position provides breathtaking panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. Originally landscaped in the early 1990s, the garden suffered significant damage from Hurricane Ivan in 2004 but has since been lovingly restored. Today, Sunnyside Garden is home to a diverse collection of plants, including lipstick palms with their distinctive red trunks, neem trees known for their medicinal properties, and a variety of orchids, hibiscus, and bromeliads. The garden also features ponds with koi and tilapia, and is home to red-footed tortoises, South American parrots, and local lizards. Visitors can explore the garden's various sections, each offering unique plants and features. The garden's design incorporates island beds separated by tropical grasses, koi ponds, and tranquil seating areas where visitors can relax and soak in the surrounding landscape. The garden is managed by the Renwick's son, Randy, and his family, who are dedicated to preserving its beauty and sharing it with visitors.
