To reach Black Sands Beach via public transport, take a bus or minibus from Grenville towards Sauteurs. Ask the driver to let you off at the stop near Black Sands Beach, close to the turn-off from Grenville Main Road. The journey should take approximately 20-30 minutes. Bus fares typically range from EC$2.50 to EC$6.50 (US$0.92 to US$2.40), depending on the distance.
Taxi
Taxis are available in Grenada and can be hired from various locations. A taxi from Maurice Bishop International Airport to the general St. George's area costs around €8.50 (XCD 25) or $10 (€9). From St. George's, a taxi to Black Sands Beach will involve a longer trip, with the total cost depending on the final destination. It's advisable to confirm the fare with the driver before starting the journey. Payment can be made in either East Caribbean Dollars (XCD) or US Dollars (USD). Tipping the driver 10% is customary.
Driving
If driving from the center of Saint Andrew, head towards the town of Grenville. Take the main road (Grenville Main Road) heading northeast. After about 5.5 kilometers, look for signs indicating the turn for Black Sands Beach. Turn right onto the road leading to the beach. Car rentals range from approximately US$50 to US$75 per day. A Grenadian driving permit is required, which costs EC$60. Parking near Black Sands Beach is limited but free.
