Public Transport

From St. George's, take a minibus from the bus terminal on Melville Street to Sauteurs. The destinations are marked on the buses. The Number 5 bus with a yellow sticker travels west to Sauteurs. The bus ride is approximately 1.5 hours and costs EC$8.00.

Taxi

Taxis are available from Maurice Bishop International Airport to Sauteurs. The ride is approximately 1.5 hours. Ensure the taxi has a registration number beginning with the letter 'H'. Taxi fares are fixed from the airport, but it's always a good idea to confirm the price before starting your journey. A taxi from Grenville to Sauteurs will cost approximately $20-$25 USD.

Driving

From St. George's, you can reach Sauteurs via the west coast route in about 1.5 hours. Follow the signs for Sauteurs. As you approach the town, look for signs for Sauteurs Beach. Parking is available near the beach.

The town got its name from the French word for "jumpers," referring to the Carib people who leapt to their deaths from a cliff rather than surrender to the French.From Sauteurs Beach, you can see Leapers Hill, also called Caribs' Leap, where the last remaining Carib natives of Grenada jumped off the 40m tall cliff to their deaths in 1651, rather than face domination by the conquering French. The beach also offers views of the Grenadine Islands.
