Two Lover's Point, known locally as Puntan Dos Amåntes, stands as Guam's most famous landmark, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. This iconic site is perched on a cliff approximately 370 feet (113 m) above the northern end of Tumon Bay, offering panoramic views of the Philippine Sea. The location is part of the limestone plateau that forms the northern part of Guam. The tragic yet romantic legend associated with Two Lover's Point tells the story of two lovers who were forbidden to be together. In the most common version of the tale, during the Spanish colonial era, a beautiful Chamorro woman, the daughter of a Spanish businessman and a prominent Chamorro woman, was promised in marriage to a Spanish captain. However, she fell in love with a Chamorro man. To escape this arranged marriage, the lovers tied their hair together and leapt to their deaths from the cliff, choosing to be together in eternity rather than be separated. Today, Two Lover's Point features tiered lookout points providing sweeping views, a statue of the two lovers, a heart lock wall where visitors can pledge their love, and a gift shop. Visitors can also ring the Lover Bell to celebrate their affection. The site provides a captivating journey through Guam's rich culture and scenic beauty.
