4.3

Perched dramatically above the turquoise waters of the Pacific Ocean, Two Lover's Point (Puntan Dos Amantes) is Guam's most famous visitor attraction. This iconic landmark offers visitors a picturesque escape with panoramic views and a rich cultural history. The cliffs rise 368 feet (112 meters) above the sea, providing views of both the eastern and western sides of the island. The poignant legend of Two Lover's Point tells the story of two young lovers who were forbidden to be together. In one version of the story, during the time when Spain ruled Guam, a beautiful Chamorro maiden named Malūhåt was promised to marry a Spanish captain, despite her love for a Chamorro warrior named Maråk. Rather than be separated, the lovers tied their hair together and leapt from the cliff into the roaring waters below, choosing to be united in eternity. Today, Two Lover's Point stands as a symbol of eternal love and a cherished landmark. Visitors can explore the serene park, admire the towering statue of the lovers, and take in the breathtaking views. The site features a Heart Lock Wall, where couples can pledge their love, and a Lover Bell to celebrate their affection. Informative plaques recount the legend and history, providing an enriching experience for all. The viewing platform offers excellent facilities, including restrooms, a picnic area, and a gift shop. Telescopes are available for an even closer view of the Pacific Ocean.
