Getting there

Driving

From Naval Base Guam, head south on Guam Route 1. Continue onto Guam Route 4, following signs for Inalåhan. Gef Pa'go is located on the right side of the road, along the coast of Inarajan Bay. Parking is free on the side of the road just before the entrance. Driving from Andersen Air Force Base will take approximately 55 minutes.

Public Transport

The Guam Regional Transit Authority (GRTA) operates a southern shuttle route that serves Inalåhan. Check the GRTA schedule for the most up-to-date route and times. From the bus stop in Inalåhan, Gef Pa'go is a short walk along the main road. A single GRTA fare is $1.00.

Taxi

Taxis are available from major hotels and shopping centers. Ask the taxi driver to take you to Gef Pa'go in Inalåhan. A taxi from the airport to Inalåhan could cost around $50-$70. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your trip.

Overview

Gef Pa'go Chamorro Cultural Village offers a glimpse into Guam's past, showcasing the traditions and lifeways of the Chamorro people. Located in the village of Inalåhan, Gef Pa'go is designed to resemble a Chamorro community from the 1940s and 50s. Elder Chamorros staff the village, demonstrating traditional arts, crafts, and cooking techniques. Visitors can learn about weaving, rope making, coconut candy preparation, and sea salt production. The village consists of traditional thatched-roof huts, each representing a different architectural style. Inarajan, believed to be the oldest village on Guam, predates Ferdinand Magellan's arrival in 1521. The village was a significant fishing spot for early Chamorros and home to the legendary Chief Gadao. A statue of Chief Gadao stands near the entrance of Gef Pa'go, commemorating his strength and leadership.Visiting Gef Pa'go provides an immersive experience into Chamorro culture and history. It's a chance to learn new skills, taste traditional foods, and connect with the island's heritage.
