Mount Lamlam Summit: Guam's Majestic Peak

Mount Lamlam, meaning "lightning" in the Chamorro language, is the highest peak on Guam, rising to 406 meters (1,332 feet) above sea level. While modest in height compared to other global mountains, it holds a unique distinction as potentially the tallest mountain on Earth when measured from its base in the nearby Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean. This extraordinary geological feature, combined with its cultural significance and breathtaking views, makes Mount Lamlam a compelling destination. The hike to the summit is a rewarding experience, with trails winding through lush tropical vegetation and offering glimpses of Guam's diverse flora and fauna. Along the way, hikers are treated to picturesque viewpoints that reveal the sparkling blue waters of the Pacific Ocean.
