Amatitlán Central Park: A Tranquil Oasis

Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Antigua Guatemala, start at Parque Central. Head southeast on 5a Avenida Norte towards 3a Calle Poniente. Continue straight onto the main street, which will become Calle del Arco. Follow this road until you reach the intersection with Avenida 1a. Turn left onto Avenida 1a and continue walking for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the bus terminal (Terminal de Buses). There, you can catch a bus to Amatitlán. Look for a bus that says 'Amatitlán' on the front or ask around, as these buses are frequent. The bus ride will take around 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive at Amatitlán, ask the driver to drop you off near the central park. The park is a short walk from the bus stop, located at F9JF+C6V on Google Maps.

• Local Bus

  Start at Parque Central in Antigua. Walk to the nearest bus terminal, which is located on Avenida 1a. Look for buses heading to Amatitlán, which are usually marked with the destination. Buy your ticket from the conductor once you board. The journey to Amatitlán takes about 30-45 minutes. After you arrive at the Amatitlán bus stop, exit the bus and walk towards the park. The central park is nearby, and you can use Google Maps to navigate to F9JF+C6V.

• Tuk-Tuk

  From Parque Central in Antigua, look for a tuk-tuk (a small motorized taxi). Agree on a price before getting in, usually around Q40-60 for the ride to Amatitlán. The driver will take you directly to the park, which is located at F9JF+C6V. The journey should take around 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the driver's understanding of your destination.
