Start your journey by heading west from the Caribbean Coast towards the nearest major town, which is Puerto Barrios. From Puerto Barrios, take the CA-9 highway heading northwest. Continue on CA-9 for approximately 2 hours until you reach the intersection with the CA-1 highway. Turn left onto CA-1 and continue for around 30 minutes. Look for signs indicating Santa Ana Volcano (Volcán de Santa Ana). The volcano is located just outside of the town of Santa Ana, El Salvador. Note that there may be parking fees at the base of the volcano, which can vary.

From the Caribbean Coast, take a bus from your nearest town to Puerto Barrios. Once in Puerto Barrios, find a bus terminal that has services heading towards San Salvador. Purchase a ticket for a bus heading to San Salvador, which should cost around $10. Upon arrival in San Salvador, transfer to a bus or shuttle service specifically heading to Santa Ana. The shuttle should take around 1.5 hours and cost approximately $5. Ensure to confirm with the driver to drop you off at the base of Santa Ana Volcano, where you can find local guides or tours to assist you further.
