Getting there

Walking

From the center of Flores, head towards the main entrance of the Tikal National Park, which is approximately a 1.5-hour walk. Start by walking towards the pedestrian bridge leading to the mainland. Once you're across, follow the road signs directing you to Tikal. You will walk past several local shops and restaurants, providing a chance to grab some refreshments along the way. Continue walking straight until you reach the entrance of Tikal National Park.

From Flores, head to the main bus terminal located near the lake. Look for the buses heading to Tikal. The trip takes about 1.5 hours, and buses run frequently. Once you arrive at the Tikal entrance, pay the entrance fee. After entering the park, follow the signs to Templo II, which is about a 30-minute walk from the entrance and well-marked.
