Getting There

• Bus

  To reach San Vicente Pacaya from Guatemala City, start by heading to the 'Terminal de Autobuses del Norte' (North Bus Terminal). You can take a taxi or use a ride-sharing app to get there. Once at the terminal, look for buses heading to 'Escuintla' or 'San Vicente Pacaya'. Buses typically leave every 30 minutes. After boarding, remain on the bus for about 45 minutes until you arrive at the San Vicente Pacaya stop. Once you arrive, you may need to walk a short distance or take a tuk-tuk to get to the entrance of the Pacaya Volcano.

• Shared Shuttle

  You can also opt for a shared shuttle service to San Vicente Pacaya. Head to one of the tourist information centers in Guatemala City and inquire about shuttles to Pacaya. These shuttles usually depart from specific hotels or designated pickup points. The journey takes around 1 hour, and the shuttle will drop you off near the entrance to the volcano.
