Public Transport

From Huehuetenango, go to the main minibus terminal at 6a Avenida and Calle 3. Look for minibuses heading towards San Juan Ixcoy. The fare is approximately Q10-15, and the journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver you wish to get off at Laguna de Zaculeu. From the drop-off point, walk approximately 1-2 km along a dirt road to the lagoon.
Taxi

Hire a taxi from anywhere in Huehuetenango. Negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around Q100-150 for a round trip. The taxi will take you directly to Laguna de Zaculeu. Arrange a pickup time to avoid waiting for a return vehicle.

From central Huehuetenango, head southwest on Calle 2 towards 6a Avenida. Continue straight for about 2.5 km until you reach the intersection with the CA-1 highway.
