The Candelaria Caves, nestled in the Alta Verapaz region of Guatemala, represent one of Central America's largest and most impressive cave systems. Stretching over 22 km, the caves feature towering ceilings reaching up to 60 meters and are interconnected by the Candelaria River. Visitors can explore the caves by foot or by floating along the Candelaria River in inner tubes, witnessing the stunning stalactites and stalagmites formed over millennia. The main chamber, Tzul Tacca, is particularly breathtaking, with natural light filtering through openings in the ceiling. The Candelaria Caves offer a unique experience, blending adventure with a deep connection to Mayan history and culture.
