Car
From Cobán, drive approximately 3 hours (100 km) to Raxruhá. The roads are generally in good condition. Once in Raxruhá, follow local signs to the Candelaria Caves. Parking is available near the cave entrances. Note that there may be a small parking fee, typically around Q20-Q30.
Public Transport
Take a bus from Guatemala City or Antigua to Fray Bartolomé de las Casas. From there, transfer to a local bus or taxi to Raxruhá, where you can access the Candelaria Caves. The bus from Guatemala City to Fray Bartolomé de las Casas costs approximately $15-$22 and takes about 3 hours. A taxi from Fray Bartolomé de las Casas to the caves will cost approximately Q100-Q150.
Walking
From Candelaria Lodge, it's a short walk to some of the cave entrances. The trails are well-marked but can be slippery, so wear appropriate footwear. Some tours begin with a 15-minute walk through the park.
