Public Transport
From Cobán or Guatemala City, take a bus towards Purulhá. Ask the driver to let you off at Finca Chicoy, approximately 4 km north of Purulhá at kilometer 169 on the Cobán-Guatemala highway. From there, it's about a 2 kilometer drive along a dirt road to Finca Chicoy, followed by a 800 meter uphill walk to the cave entrance. Bus fares from Cobán to Purulhá range from GTQ 15-30.
Walking
From the turnoff at kilometer 169 on the Cobán-Guatemala highway, it is approximately a 2 kilometer walk along a mostly flat dirt road to the Finca Chicoy entrance. From the entrance, the walk to the cave is about 800 meters uphill. The final approach involves walking uphill on a sometimes-slippery path, so wear appropriate footwear.
