Car
If you are driving from the center of Verapaces, head southeast on the main road towards Jalapa. After approximately 30 km, you will reach a junction. Take the left turn towards Jalapa. Continue for another 20 km until you see signs for Catarata de Urlanta. Once you see the signs, follow them for about 5 km until you arrive at the parking area near the entrance to the waterfall. Make sure to check the condition of the road as it can be rough in some areas.

Public Transportation
To reach Catarata de Urlanta via public transportation, go to the main bus terminal in Verapaces. Look for a bus heading to Jalapa. The journey will take about 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Jalapa, you need to take a local pickup truck or 'tuco' towards the waterfalls. These pickups usually leave from the central park area and will charge around Q15-20 per person. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to go to Catarata de Urlanta, and they will drop you off at the entrance.
