Car
From the center of Cobán, take the CA-9 highway towards Chisec. Continue on CA-9 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for Chisec. Take the exit towards Chisec and follow the road for approximately 25 kilometers until you reach the town of Chisec. Once in Chisec, look for signs directing you to the Candelaria Caves. The caves are located at GPS coordinates 15.8141597, -90.2880156, and are situated just off the main road (RP76+MQ9). There is generally no parking fee, but keep in mind that access to the caves may have an entrance fee, which typically ranges between 10-30 Q (Guatemalan Quetzals).
Public Transportation
To reach Candelaria Caves via public transportation, start from the main bus terminal in Cobán. Look for a bus heading to Chisec (these are often labeled 'Chisec' or 'Candelaria'). The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Chisec, you can either walk or take a tuk-tuk to the Candelaria Caves. Walking will take around 30-40 minutes, while a tuk-tuk ride will cost about 20-30 Q. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance to the caves.
