Discover more about National Trust of Guernsey - Fermain Tower

Fermain Tower, perched on the edge of Fermain Bay in Guernsey, is a testament to history and thoughtful renovation. Originally built between 1778 and 1779 as one of 15 loophole towers to defend against potential French attacks, this pre-Martello tower, also known as Tower 15, has been transformed into a unique self-catering accommodation by the National Trust of Guernsey. Bequeathed to the Trust in 2002 by Percy Ferguson, the tower has been enjoyed by many guests since opening in 2019. The tower's thick stone walls and imaginative interior design blend its rugged history with modern comfort. The accommodation is arranged over three floors and a roof deck, connected by ladder-style steps, a circular staircase, and a ladder leading to the roof deck. The interior includes a small but well-equipped kitchen and dining area, a cozy cabin bedroom, and a wet room. The roof deck offers panoramic views of Fermain Bay, perfect for stargazing and enjoying the coastal scenery. Staying at Fermain Tower offers a chance to step away from everyday life and immerse oneself in the natural environment. Guests can explore the nearby coastal paths, swim in the sea, or simply relax on the beach. The tower is ideally suited for able-bodied adults seeking a unique and historical retreat.
