The primary access to Shell Beach is via ferry from St Peter Port, Guernsey. Both the Isle of Herm ferry and Travel Trident operate regular services. The ferry journey takes approximately 20 minutes. A round-trip ticket typically costs around £15 per adult. Depending on the tide, the ferry will dock either at Herm Harbour or Rosaire Steps, both within a short walking distance of Shell Beach.

From Herm Harbour or Rosaire Steps, follow the signposted coastal paths towards the northern part of the island. The walk to Shell Beach is a leisurely stroll of approximately 15-20 minutes.
