Discovering the Pilcher Monument: A Tribute to History

Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, head towards Pleinmont Point. From St. Peter Port, take the A2 road towards the west. Follow the signs for Pleinmont Point. Once you arrive at Pleinmont, look for the parking area near the coastal path. Pilcher Monument is a short walk from the parking lot. Head southwest along the coastal path, and you will see the monument on your right, just after a scenic viewpoint.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Pilcher Monument using public transport, take the bus route 91 or 92 from St. Peter Port towards Pleinmont. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Pleinmont bus stop. From there, walk towards the coastline and follow the path leading southwest. The Pilcher Monument is about a 10-minute walk along the coastal path from the bus stop. You will see the monument after passing a couple of scenic viewpoints. Ensure to check the bus schedule for return times.

• Walking

  If you're already in the vicinity of Pleinmont Point, you can walk to Pilcher Monument. Start from the nearest point of interest, such as the Pleinmont Observation Tower. From there, take the coastal path heading southwest. It is a pleasant walk of about 10-15 minutes along the scenic cliffs, and you will arrive at Pilcher Monument, which is easily visible from the path.
