Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Georgetown, take the East Bank Demerara road (also known as the East Bank Highway) heading towards the Soesdyke-Linden Highway. Continue along the East Bank for about 30 minutes until you reach the intersection with the Soesdyke-Linden Highway. Turn left onto the Soesdyke-Linden Highway and continue for approximately 10 minutes. Look for signs to Nismes and turn left onto the road leading to Nismes. Follow this road until you reach PMMW+WP, Nismes, where the Conservancy dam is located. Parking is usually available nearby.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the Conservancy dam using public transportation, start at the main bus park in Georgetown. Take a minibus heading to Nismes or the East Bank Demerara route. The fare is usually around GYD 200-300. Inform the driver you want to get off at Nismes. Once you arrive in Nismes, you can either walk or take a motorcycle taxi (locally known as 'bicycle taxi') to PMMW+WP, where the Conservancy dam is situated. The motorcycle taxi fare should be around GYD 100-200.

• Taxi

  For a more convenient option, you can hire a taxi directly from your location in Demerara-Mahaica to the Conservancy dam. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it typically ranges from GYD 3000 to GYD 5000, depending on your starting point. Provide the driver with the address PMMW+WP, Nismes, to ensure they know the exact location.
