If you have a car, start from the center of Bassin-Bleu and head northwest on Route Nationale #1. Continue on this road for about 40 km until you reach the town of Saint-Marc. From Saint-Marc, you will need to find a ferry service to Tortuga. There are multiple companies that provide ferry rides from the port in Saint-Marc to Tortuga Island. The ferry ride typically takes about 1.5 hours. Make sure to check the schedule in advance, as ferries may not run daily or may have limited hours.
Public Transportation
To reach Tortuga via public transportation, first make your way to a local tap-tap (shared taxi) station in Bassin-Bleu. Take a tap-tap that heads toward Saint-Marc. The journey may take about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Upon arrival at Saint-Marc, follow the signs to the ferry dock. There you can purchase tickets for the ferry to Tortuga. Expect to pay around 20-30 HTG for the ferry ride. Again, check the ferry schedule, as it can vary.
