Walking
From the center of Cap-Haïtien, head towards the Boulevard de la République. Walk north on this road until you reach the intersection with Rue 1. Turn left onto Rue 1 and continue straight until you see the signs pointing toward Citadelle Laferrière. You will need to walk approximately 3 kilometers to reach the base of the Citadel. Once there, you may need to pay a small fee to enter the park area surrounding the Citadel.
