Car
If you are traveling by car from Grand'Anse, head north on Route Nationale #1 towards Cap-Haïtien. Continue on this road for approximately 90 kilometers (about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic). As you approach Cap-Haïtien, look for signs directing you towards the Rivière du Nord area. Once in Cap-Haïtien, follow the signs to Fort Picolet, which is located at QRM6+396 rival beach. Make sure to park in a safe area nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Fort Picolet using public transportation, take a tap-tap (shared taxi) from Grand'Anse to Cap-Haïtien. The ride should take about 2-3 hours. Once you arrive in Cap-Haïtien, you can take another tap-tap or a moto-taxi to Rivière du Nord. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to go to Fort Picolet located at QRM6+396 rival beach. Upon arrival, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the fort itself.
Walking
If you are already in Cap-Haïtien and close to the Rivière du Nord area, you can walk to Fort Picolet. From the town center, head towards the coast and follow the signs leading to the beach area. The fort is located on the beach, so you may need to navigate through some local pathways to access it directly. Always ask locals for directions if you feel uncertain.
