Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Hinche, head southeast toward Rue de l'Independance. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Route Nationale #3. Turn left onto Route Nationale #3 and walk for approximately 3 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Mirebalais, as Le fort-anglais is located near Mirebalais. As you approach Mirebalais, you will see a sign for RWJ2+6Q5; follow that direction. The fort is located on a slight hill, so you may need to walk uphill for a short distance. The views from the top are worth the effort!

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Hinche. Start at Place de la Paix and ride southeast towards Rue de l'Independance. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer, then take a left onto Route Nationale #3. Follow this road for approximately 3 kilometers, keeping an eye out for signs leading to Mirebalais. Once you reach Mirebalais, look for the RWJ2+6Q5 area. The fort is located slightly uphill, so prepare for a small climb at the end of your ride.
