Continue on RN1 for approximately 2 hours until you reach Cap-Haïtien. Once in Cap-Haïtien, follow signs to the beach area known as Rival Beach, where Fort Picolet is located. The exact location is QRM6+396, which you can input into your GPS. Parking may be available nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Fort Picolet using public transportation, start by taking a tap-tap (local shared taxi) from Jacmel to Port-au-Prince. This journey usually takes about 2 hours. From Port-au-Prince, you can catch a bus or another tap-tap heading to Cap-Haïtien, which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Upon arriving in Cap-Haïtien, you can take a motorcycle taxi (moto) to Rival Beach, where Fort Picolet is located. The ride should take about 15 minutes. Ensure you confirm the fare with the moto driver beforehand, as prices can vary.
Combination (Car and Moto)
