    If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Sud (e.g., Les Cayes). Head north on Route Nationale #2 (RN2) towards Cap-Haïtien. Continue on RN2 for about 25 km until you reach the town of Milot. From Milot, follow the signs to Citadelle Laferrière. The road will lead you up a winding path that takes you directly to the citadel. Please note that the road can be steep and bumpy, so drive carefully. Parking is available near the entrance.

    For those using public transportation, start by taking a tap-tap (shared taxi) or a bus from Les Cayes to Cap-Haïtien. This ride will take approximately 2-3 hours. From there, you will need to either walk or hire a local guide to take you the remaining distance up the mountain to the citadel.
