Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the main square (Parque Central) in Copán Ruinas, head east towards the main road (Calle Principal). Walk along Calle Principal, taking in the local shops and atmosphere. Continue straight for about 300 meters until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the ruins. At this intersection, turn left onto the smaller road (Calle de los Ruinas). Walk for about 150 meters. You should see the Plaza Oriental on your right, located just off the main path. The plaza is marked by its beautiful landscaping and historical significance.

From the Macaw Mountain Bird Park, head back towards the main road (Calle Principal). Once you reach Calle Principal, turn right and continue walking straight for about 600 meters. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. Keep an eye out for the intersection that leads towards the ruins. Turn left at this intersection onto Calle de los Ruinas. After about 150 meters, the Plaza Oriental will be visible on your right.

If you are coming from the Copán Ruinas archaeological site, exit the site and turn left onto the main road (Calle Principal). Walk back towards the town center, which is approximately 1 kilometer away. After about 15 minutes of walking, keep an eye out for Calle de los Ruinas on your right. Turn right onto this road and walk about 150 meters. The Plaza Oriental will be on your right, easily recognizable by its lush greenery and historical features.
