Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the main town of La Paz. Head northeast on the CA-1 highway, also known as the Pan-American Highway. Continue for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the CA-5 road. Turn left onto CA-5 and continue for about 15 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Aguacatal or Picachito. Turn right onto a smaller road towards Aguacatal. After about 5 kilometers, you will arrive at the coordinates 55PC+9G, where Picachito is located. Parking may be available nearby.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Picachito using public transportation, start at the central bus terminal in La Paz. Look for buses heading to Aguacatal or nearby towns. The fare should be around 50 Lempiras. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Aguacatal, ask locals for directions to Picachito or look for signs. It is about a 10 to 15-minute walk from the bus stop to the observation deck.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from La Paz. The fare will typically range from 500 to 800 Lempiras, depending on your negotiation skills and time of day. The taxi will take you directly to Picachito, which is about 1 hour's drive. Ensure the driver knows the specific location (55PC+9G, Aguacatal) to avoid any confusion.
