Getting There
Walking
From the central area of Utila, head towards the main dock. Once you reach the dock, look for the main road that leads to West Bay. Follow this road, which is called 'Main Street', continuing on the path until you reach the T-junction. Turn left at the junction and keep walking straight. You will pass several local shops and restaurants on your left. Continue walking for about 15-20 minutes until you see the entrance to Gumbalimba Park on your right. The park is located at 34101 West Bay, and you should see clear signage directing you to the entrance.
Bicycle
If you prefer to bike, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Utila. Start your route from the central area and head towards the main dock. Once at the dock, follow Main Street towards West Bay. You will have a scenic ride, and it should take you approximately 10-15 minutes. Look for the entrance to Gumbalimba Park on your right once you pass the T-junction. Make sure to watch out for pedestrians and enjoy the views along the way!
Taxi Boat
From Utila's main dock, you can take a taxi boat to West Bay. Approach one of the taxi boat operators and ask to be taken to West Bay. The ride will last about 10 minutes. Once you arrive at the West Bay dock, disembark and walk towards the main road. Turn left and walk for about 5 minutes until you see the entrance to Gumbalimba Park on your right. This option gives you a lovely view of the coastline and is a fun way to travel!
